MJACR reflects about legislative law making methodologies in the country

Intending to improve the current scenario of lawmaking, technicians from the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs (MJACR) met in the district of Marracuene, Maputo, to reflect on the methodologies of legislative elaboration in Mozambique.
”The discussion of this instrument is only unfortunate for being late. Its approval is urgent, crucial and will be of utmost importance to improve the normative acts of the country", considered Justino Tonela, Director General of IPAJ, speaking at the opening of the event that took place in Macaneta, Marracuene, Maputo.
The seminar was guided by methodologies proposed by the Guide for the Preparation of Legislation produced by the Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs with support from USAID through the SPEED Project.
After being debated and harmonized by the Ministry and Parliament technicians, in a next phase, the document is expected to be approved by the Council of Ministers and submitted to Parliament for approval as a law, aiming to improve the process.
Among the CPLP countries, Mozambique, along with Guinea Bissau, is one of the countries that does not have a guide for the legislative approval of the respective countries, so it is intended that this proposal be a model that regulates the normative acts of the Government and the Assembly of the Republic.
