<section xmlns="http://ibexa.co/namespaces/ezpublish5/xhtml5"><p>Approximately 3,500 EDM employees, only around 17 percent are women. Out of these 17 percent, most of the women occupy non-technical positions in administration and finance and only one out of 6 members on the EDM executive board is a woman. In 2018, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzorgxLVavD3O3S05PlqbPw">@USAIDMozambique1</a> through SPEED Project supported the EDM to elaborate its Gender Audit that culminated in the development and launch of the Gender Strategy aimed to increase workforce participation by women in the energy sector by 2030.</p></section>

<section xmlns="http://ibexa.co/namespaces/ezpublish5/xhtml5"><p>On May 23, 2022, the Government of Mozambique launched its first official national biodiversity information portal.&nbsp;Developed with support from USAID through the SPEED project, in collaboration with the wildlife Conservation Society, the Connect portal aggregates biodiversity information and data from various conventions related to biodiversity; it also provides information and data sets on our national Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) as well as the species and ecosystems present in Mozambique, including those that sit on the Red List of Threatened Species.</p></section>

<section xmlns="http://ibexa.co/namespaces/ezpublish5/xhtml5"><p>With the objective of reducing poaching and wildlife crime in Mozambique, in 2019 USAID SPEED and others biodiversity partners in collaboration with the Supreme Court initiated the work to adapt the RRM for use in the court system, creating a bench book, a suite of associated training modules, and delivering training for Supreme Court and provincial judges. As result, In 2021, the Training and Support Manual for the Judges in matters of wildlife crime was launched.</p></section>

<section xmlns="http://ibexa.co/namespaces/ezpublish5/xhtml5"><p>USAID through SPEED Project and others supported BIOFUND to establish the Emergency BIO-Fund to channel financial resources to public and private sector protected areas in Mozambique. This Fund was really relief to Wildlife Park Rangers and ensuring animals protection in challenging times caused COVID 19 pandemic.</p></section>
